The Challenges of Achieving a Healthy Lifestyle

Today, people are more conscious of fitness and health. Media and online sties today are full on info on the healthy lifestyle, the right kinds of food to eat, and whatever you need to know on achieving this kind of lifestyle. Despite of these literature and all the warnings given to us, there are still a lot of people who fail in their attempt at becoming fit and healthy. We have received plenty of warnings of eating high-calorie diets and engaging in harmful behaviors, yet we still eat these foods and engage in these behaviors. It seems that people who have set their heart at doing the right things have found themselves unable to attain their goals. What this shows us is that, for many people, it is a difficult task to achieve a healthy lifestyle and also the reason why sicknesses still prevail today. So, where does the problem lie?

The problems lies in the desire of each individual to gratify himself. We are people who are impatient to see results instead of waiting until we see one. Even if you are promised a better thing in the future, people will choose an instant reward over it. People can’t wait for a better reward in the future, and if there is something that they can get now, they will surely get it.

If we apply this to being healthy, the reality is that you cannot immediately feel the effects or the benefits of adopting a healthy lifestyle. You know that dieting and exercise is good for you if you are overweight, but then you will not attain the results immediately and when you think of the hunger that you will feel, or the tiredness of your body , and denying yourself of treats, then you immediately give up on your goals and be as you are. You don’t do your dieting and exercising even though you know it is good for you since you will not see any benefit immediately. This is the reason why doing what is best you’re your health is so hard.

One way to help yourself is to give something to gratify yourself while you are doing your health plan. It is not really impossible to gain health benefits while laying aside instant gratification. Overcoming the problem of instant gratification can be done in several ways. There are many tricks that can help you overcome this. In your health plan, add a bit of instant gratification. Motive yourself by gibing yourself a reward whenever your health goal is achieved. These rewards can help you slowly achieve your goals.

Don’t make a mistake of rewarding yourself with food items that will go against your health goals. With these rewards, you can have self gratification while achieving your health goals.
